Here are the chicks in their new home at Graves Park

The Monteney chicks have really enjoyed their time at Monteney but its now time for them to go. As they grow bigger they need lots more space to run around in and feed. Because of this they are all going to live at Graves Park where they can grow into adult chickens.

The surviving chicks are flourishing. They are putting on weight and their feathers, especially their wing feathers, are growing nicely.

We have recorded the chicks weights to see who is growing the quickest.

Look at the graph:

Is it true that the chick who hatched first is the heaviest?

Is it true that the last chick to hatch is the lightest?

All the remaining chicks are doing eggtremely well. They are looking fit and well and are growing at quite a rate. The suriving chicks are;

Adam

Brian

Charlie

Darren

Eric

Freddie

Gerrard

Harry

Ian

In Y4 SC we wrote and recorded some poems about the chicks. We made up some acrostic poems and some limericks.

We are very sad to have lost Jack.

Jack hatched only yesterday but unfortunately he was not strong enough to survive through the night.

The rest of the chicks all seem strong and healthy and enjoying their time in the ‘Chick Brother’ compound.

In Y1 we have used bubbl.us to brainstorm chicks. We think we know a lot about the chicks but we think there is a lot more to find out too.

Click on the picture to see it larger.

We interviewed Connor about the chicks.

We interviewed Georgia about the chicks.

We interviewed Joshua about the chicks.

The chicks start hatching one after the other. Soon the compound is starting to fill up.
